We help musicians reach their full potential through high quality instruments and providing customized lutherie services.
In 2021 and after completing her studies in Bilbao, Spain, Catarina opens her own workshop in Lisbon, in the Restelo area. Here she fully dedicates herself to violin making, following in the footsteps of the old Italian masters. She also restores string instruments and their respective bows. At the shop, it is also possible to find a selection of instruments by other makers, carefully selected and prepared by Catarina and ready to be voiced by players of different levels.
Catarina Veiga violins are only built through commissioning of an instrument. There is currently no stock available for immediate delivery. After purchase, all violins will be adjusted in collaboration with the musician to ensure a comfortable fit and to match their preferred sound profiles.

“I was born in Porto, Portugal, and I am a luthier, architect, and violinist. It all started in 2009 when I had the opportunity to spend time at Judith Bauer’s violin making workshop. I remember crafting a violin bridge, seeing its unique and delicate shape and falling in love with the art of violin making. As a musician, I also realized the need for a space that truly fosters collaboration and where musicians can find the necessary support to extract the full potential of their instruments. It was with this thought in mind that I began working in this field.
I build violins with the aim of offering unique instruments, adapted to each musician, in a transparent work process that can be followed along and where the final outputs represents the buyer.“

“As a trained marketer, I have experience in the areas of marketing and sales in startups and social institutions. I co-founded a junior initiative in college aimed at helping non-profit organizations expand their reach and maximize their impact through marketing, branding, and advertising solutions, which I led and worked as a project manager.
My entry into the world of music occurred much earlier, when I began playing the violin at the Metropolitana de Lisboa in 2003. Although my professional path did not lead me towards music, this project brings together my two worlds.”
